About Me

My Story

Hi, I’m James.

I’m a twenty-two-year-old aspiring journalist and politician from East London and recent graduate of the University of Exeter. I would like to use my voice to inspire positive change in my community.

My interest in politics began young as a result of the major changes I saw in my area as a child. Being from Old Street, London, I have witnessed first hand the positives and negatives of rapid urban development.

Old Street and the surrounding areas of Shoreditch, Finsbury and Hoxton are some of the most rapidly changing areas in the world and I believe that it is vital to accommodate those who are left behind by such transformations.

I am a proud Londoner and alumnus of Central Foundation Boys’ School and Harris Westminster Sixth Form, two of the best performing state schools in the capital.

At Sixth Form, my passion for politics intensified, and I represented Harris Westminster as the President of the Politics Society. Here I began my research into the world’s biggest issues and suggested solutions.

I also at this time developed an affinity for American politics. This attraction led me to Florida just a couple years later, where I spent a year studying the intricacies of the U.S. political system. During my time in Florida I also gained extensive knowledge about the U.S. military through inspirational figures like General Draude pictured with me to the left.

As well as having an interest in American politics, I am also drawn to the topics of development, authoritarianism, war, finance and UK party politics.
