About Me

My Story

Hi, I’m James.

I’m a twenty-one year old Philosophy, Politics and Economics undergraduate at the University of Exeter from London, England.

I am an aspiring journalist and politician, and would like to use my voice to inspire positive change.

My interest in politics began young, due predominantly to the major changes I saw in my area as a child. Being from Old Street, London, I have witnessed first hand the positives and negatives of gentrification.

Old Street and the surrounding areas of Shoreditch, Finsbury and Hoxton are some of the most rapidly developing areas in the world and I believe that there needs to be change to accommodate those who are left behind by these processes.

I am a Londoner through and through and I am alumni of Central Foundation Boys’ School and Harris Westminster Sixth Form, two of the best performing state schools in the capital.

It was at Sixth Form where my passion for politics intensified and I represented Harris Westminster as the President of the Politics Society. Here I began my research into the world’s biggest issues and suggested solutions.

I also at this time developed an affinity for the United States. This attraction led me to Florida just a couple years later, where I spent a year studying the intricacies of American politics. During my time in Florida I also gained extensive knowledge about the U.S. military through inspirational figures like General Draude pictured with me to the left.

As well as having an interest in American politics, I am also drawn to the topics of development, authoritarianism, war, finance and party politics.
